George Summers is an English film-maker from Cornwall, who mostly creates animated shorts. He was born in Truro and moved to Bahrain in 2007, until he returned to Cornwall in 2011 and continued to make films. He started film making at only 7 (2005) and created home made videos in the UK as well as the middle east throughout child hood with his brother: Seb Summers, and was inspired by adventure and sci-fi fiction such as Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977). They mostly consisted of live action pieces made as a child with friends, and not as much animation as getting results was generally too difficult. In 2015 he begun serious focus on animation following the success of his stop motion short Just Some Morning Tea (2015), which received national recognition as well as several awards. He usually creates his short films independently in a garage-studio, with only the help of occasional voice actors and technical advisers - often including family members (his mother, father, and siblings have all offered vocals at least once). George continues primarily stop motion film-making whilst in education, and has earned further awards and recognition for his work such as the premiere of his follow-up film The Wizard in the Woods (2016) at the Crystal Palace Film Festival in 2016. He is also has a passion for piano-playing and video gaming - both of which have been relevant to his growth into animated film making.
