Shaun Dunnigan was born in San Jose, California on January 13, 1967 to Paul E. Dunnigan and Connie Ruth (Holt)Dunnigan. He spent most of his childhood moving from place to place with his Mother and younger sister Tanya within California, a brief time in Grant's Pass, Oregon, then finally to Idaho Falls, Idaho where he went to Junior High School and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1985. Art and Illustration were always his passion from childhood, and being some form of artist was certain in his mind to become as a profession. Through certain circumstances, he had lived on his own and worked his way through nearly the last two years of High School since the age of 16. With his church youth group friends, he was always the clown, entertaining them with jokes and celebrity impressions. Without much other opportunity, he found himself joining the Army Reserves fresh out of High School, but only to work low paying jobs in Idaho after military training on the East Coast. Finally joining the USMC in 1987, he served four years in Communications at Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii. After a 3 year break in Service spent mostly in Seattle area,(where he attended the Art Institute of Seattle while working at Nautilus Northwest fitness club), and Alaska, he served another 8 years Active Service in the Regular US Army(one year Korea, two years Fort Hunter Liggett, CA, four years with Army Space Command), from which he ended up in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he lived nearly 18 years. During his time in Colorado, he became very active with a major annual production called 'The Thorn', playing a role as a Warrior Angel on stage as many years as available for a span of 15 years. He met his first wife, Mekka, from which he had his first son, Noah, who now lives with his mother in Lakewood, Colorado. During this 18 year span of time in Colorado, there were periods of overseas contract positions in which he worked a total of four years in the Middle East, supporting the US War effort on various Logistics and IT positions. It was his 26 months working in Qatar that he met his second wife, Marie-Joyce, and have had two children with, James and Kala. During this time and some time in Hawaii, he served the remainder of his full 20 years of Military Service in the Air Force Reserves, of which he retired May 5th, 2018. He has lived in Hawaii since 2015, and pursued Acting opportunities and landed a speaking role in 2016 as Federal Agent David Strauss in Season 6, Episode 19 of Hawaii Five O. Since then, he has taken a full year of acting classes with Scott Roger's Studios, and had several auditions for TV and Major Motion Pictures. He has yet to land another major role, but has had minor roles such as an 'official' in the Water Boy production about The Duke of Hawaii, and a speaking role in a music video called 'Gone' with Chryst Moon, as well as many background roles in movies such as 'Snatched' 2016, Jurassic World, Fallen Kingdom, and TV such as Magnum PI and Hawaii Five O.
