Cheyan Jean Metcalfe was born in St. Louis, Missouri. She is an actor, dancer, and model. She is the youngest of her mother's 3 children as well as the youngest sibling of her father's children with 3 brothers (1 deceased) and a sister. Raised by her mother, she is affectionately called CJ by her older sister Reyan and brother Bryan. Her middle name was taken from her grandmother Gloria Jean, a gospel singer, evangelist, vocal coach, and piano instructor. Cheyan's mother moved her and her brother to Dallas when she was 3 years old. Her nephews DJ and Brandon would often come for summer visits and from a mix of boredom and creativity they'd come up with silly skits or act out homemade horror flicks to scare each other. She always looked up to and admired her sister's sense of fashion and her brother's ability to sing and act. Her passion to dance was so strong that she once told her mother that if she could dance and didn't get paid for it, she would still be happy in life. After hearing her brother recite Wood Harris' lines "attitude reflect leadership" over and over, from the movie "Remember the Titans" it gave her even more motivation to want to use her natural gifts to entertain. Her mother took her serious and put her in dance classes at Dallas Black Dance Theater and from there she started dancing with local Dallas talent and getting noticed at school to take first place twice in her school talent shows. Cheyan lived in Atlanta, GA for a year to try out modeling and hopes of auditioning for a TV show but her mother did not feel that the timing was right. Her short lived Atlanta stay was not in vain. She met Cynthia Bailey of the "Real Housewies of Atlanta" and was excited to grace her studio runway. Not long after, her mother realized how badly she wanted to showcase her talents so she decided to take her California. Without wasting anytime, Cheyan jumped right into the groove of things and immediately started taking classes with famously sought after choreographer Matt Stefanina. From then on she was able to meet entertainment influences like Jay Pugh founder and president of R.K. Records Management as he has shared support and valuable advice. Cheyan is in pre production for the character of Brenda a 12 year old addict, dealer, and streetwalker who is an extreme contrast of who she is in real life. With the direction of controversial writer/producer Shane Ryan, she is set to bring Brenda's character to life as the film was inspired by the music of Tupac Shakur and the experiences of her own mother.
