California native Ed Wallach was in the right place at the right time when it came to getting a chance to be in film. During shooting for "The 11th Day," a 2005 documentary about the 1941 German invasion of Crete, Director Christos Epperson realized he had plenty of actors to portray young George Tzitzikas and his contemporaries. However, Epperson lacked older actors to recreate the officer corps who fought on both sides of the conflict. He spread the word that he was looking to round out the cast, and Wallach jumped at the chance. Wallach, a Human Resources professional by trade, was tapped to play a New Zealand officer who briefs Tzitzikas on Crete's defensive positions when Tzitzikas arrives on the island after fighting in Albania. Wallach lives in Sacramento with his wife, Kris, and is an avid fan of military history.
