Mario Nieves Acevedo

Mario Nieves Acevedo is a cinematographer based in Southern California. Growing up the oldest of 5, he is a natural born leader and a very supportive team player. Mario first discovered his passion for cinematography when he began filming for freerunning athletes and stunt performers at FreedomInMotion, Temecula CA. He dedicated almost two years trying to master creative camera movement while also being a full time student and having a part time job. Once he transferred to UC IRVINE, he applied all his time and efforts to train himself to be an industry working professional. Starting out green and living in his car for the first year, Mario quickly became known at UCI and has photographed 25 narrative and experimental short films, lensed 4 documentaries and has traveled all over the US and Mexico. Currently, He's lining up a few short films this summer 2020 and preparing to start work on a feature film in Iowa. Mario is an award winning cinematographer with a healthy work ethic and problem solving skills. When Mario is not on set, he is a parkour athlete, mechanic, and loves to travel.
