Scott Majidi is a Sydney based Persian-Australian screen composer. He has composed, produced, recorded and conducted scores for various screen and live projects. Some of these credits include collaborations with ensembles such as the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Australian Symphony Orchestra, and TaikOz. He made his film composition debut in 2016 with the short film 'My Name is Grace' where he won best original score. His other screen credits include award nominated films Sushi Noh (2021), The Replica (2021) and Atlas, No Compass (2020). Scott has worked in various filmmaking roles and is an experienced multi-instrumentalist. He has a passion for experimentation and out of the box thinking when it comes to film scoring. He holds a Master of Screen Degree from The Australian Film Television and Radio School, and has benefited from the mentorship and experience of seasoned composers such as Michael Giacchino (Spider-Man: No Way Home), Nerida Tyson-Chew (H is for Happiness), Jessica Wells (Mad Max: Fury Road), Antony Partos (Rams) and Cameron Patrick (Incredibles 2). Scott's goal is to champion inclusion and diversity within the filmmaking industry; to explore and experiment with unique scores and soundtracks and tell stories to inform others of often misunderstood perspectives.
