Al Cruz

Al Cruz is a young upstart filmmaker who was born on August 23, 1983 in Manila, Philippines. Being a seasoned 2D animation director for nearly half a decade, working for various award-winning animation studios in the country, he decided to transcend his love for hand-drawn moving pictures on a computer screen to the ever expanding world of filmmaking and live motion picture. Choosing the Digital-SLR system as his primary weapon of choice, this allows for a very flexible and spontaneous style of run-and-gun shooting. As a result, his works can easily be attributed to a now popularized avenue called "Guerrilla Filmmaking", a familiar approach which is very much utilized in documentary works. With much passion to improve his craft, AL CRUZ founded "Fuguwi Collective" in the year 2013. Fuguwi comprises a band of animators, illustrators and visual artists who share the same passion for filmmaking. Starting out as a rather small outfit, Al and Fuguwi Collective have worked with numerous companies and had engaged in many collaborative opportunities, taking on anything from event coverages to small corporate AVP's, Fuguwi Collective has since then enjoyed a constant feed of film projects which led Al Cruz to finally decide to take on a much larger scale project, an direct a full length documentary movie entitled "MOTIV8TION".
