Professional swimmer, Hilary Caldwell was born on March 13, 1991 in London, Ontario, Canada. Her parents are Gillian Douglas and Chalmers Caldwell. Growing up in White Rock, British Columbia, she began swimming competitively when she was just six years old. Hilary attended the University of Victoria in British Columbia, where she studied French. At her Olympic debut in London (2012), she came in 18th place in the backstroke 200m and in 2016, she won a bronze medal in the same event at the Rio Olympics.
