Francisca Lachapel

Dominican-born Francisca Lachapel has always had the calling for entertainment! Starting to perform at a young age, she appeared as an actress on local Dominican television as a teenager, but her big break wouldn't come until 2015 when she entered and won the popular, renowned, international television beauty contest "Nuestra Beliza Latina," (akin to "Miss America") overcoming being an underdog to become the first Dominican beauty to wear the Crown. Building on her newfound fame she continued to appear on television in America, Dominican Republic and Mexico. She has been featured numerously on such hit shows as "El Gordo y la Flaca," "Sal y Pimienta" and "Sabadazo," both as herself and sometimes as her alter-ego character of "Mela la Melaza", a lovable personage Francisca created during her run on "NBL" that has now taken on a life of its own, including most recently a hit single record, featuring the legendary Ivy Queen. Late in 2015, Francisca secured the coveted co-hosting position on America's biggest Latin TV morning show, ¡Despierta América! ("Wake up America!"), a post she still holds until this day. Aside from her undeniable talents, Francisca is adored by millions of loyal fans because despite her fame, she remains a woman of the people, approachable, humble and beautiful. Francisca has also exploded on social media with her following in the millions and growing daily! Embracing her good fortune, she has recently published a best-selling book titled "Una Reina Como Tu" ("A Queen Like You"), that chronicles her journey, adding "author" to her growing list of accomplishments! In addition to her daily hosting duties, Francisca has now appeared on numerous scripted and non-fiction programs in the US and Latin America including Televisia's popular show, "Despertar Contigo," filmed in Mexico City and broadcast around the world. Aside from Television and Film, Francisca is also expanding her business empire with the addition of her new "Be Authentic" Perfume and with her new online store "Authentic by Francisca." Most recently, Francisca was recognized as one of the 25 Most Powerful Latin Women of 2019 in the industry by People en Espanol Magazine. Francisca resides in Miami with her fiancée.
