Director and writer Zsolt Bernáth began his filmmaking journey at the age of 11. Over the years, he has explored a wide range of genres, including thrillers, horrors, comedies, horror-comedies, children's films, and spiritual dramas. In 1994, he established the creative workshop Cruel World Team, dedicated to the development and production of independent films. In addition to his roles as director and writer, Bernáth also served as the producer for his early works. Between 1994 and 2014, he produced and directed seven feature films, numerous short films, music videos, commercials, and other projects. His most notable feature film, In the Name of Sherlock Holmes, garnered critical acclaim, winning the 'Best Film for Youngsters' Award at the Stockholm International Film Festival in 2013 and the 'Best Youth Film' Award at the Kryla (The Wings) International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Kyiv, Ukraine in 2014. Bernáth's short film The Passion received further recognition, winning the 'Award for Editing' and 'Award for Use of Sound' at The Malta Cine Circle Festival in 2021.
