Two feature-length fiction films, a feature-length documentary, a TV-movie, fifteen short films, three Goya nominations, 200 awards and more than 500 official selections are the figures for this Spanish director, born in Mallorca. After numerous awards in the short film world during the first decade of the 21st century, including two Goya nominations for Best Short Film, in 2012 he released his first feature film, "The Perfect Stranger" (2012) - Official Selection at the Valladolid Festival, the Busan Festival (South Korea) or the Palm Springs Festival (USA), among others, and which won the award for Best First Film at the Galway Film Festival (Ireland). His next film, the feature documentary "I Am Your Father" (2015) (co-directed with Marcos Cabota), was nominated for the Goya for Best Feature Documentary, the Forque Awards and the Medal of the Spanish Film Writers' Circle, and participated in the Sitges Film Festival. His third film was "Pullman" (2020), which won the Best Feature Film Award at the first edition of the Mallorca Film Awards and the Young Jury Award at the Brussels Children's and Young People's Film Festival. The TV-movie "Furia" (2021) and the short film "Seeds" (2022) are his latest productions. He is currently preparing his new feature film, written by David Desola, screenwriter of the successful film "The Platform" (2019). As a producer he has participated in the films "The Exile" (2015) by Arturo Ruiz and "Noctem" (2017) by Marcos Cabota. He has also produced several short films, including "Zama" (2022) and "24 horas con Lucia" (2013). He is a member of the Spanish Film Academy and combines his work as a filmmaker with teaching in film schools.
