Nino Bizzarri first started studying architecture, with the idea of becoming a production designer. After meeting Roberto Rossellini and working with him as an assistant on Year One (1974) he realized directing was what he really wanted to do. He started writing as a film critic on "Rivista del cinematografo" and in 1978 he directed an experimental semi-short film for RAI, called "Cantar di tempi oscuri". Since 1997 he's been mostly working as director/author of documentaries for RAI International.
