Orlando Bloom

“My whole career has been about making my childhood fantasies come true, playing larger-than-life characters, playing knights, elves, princes and soldiers.” Orlando Bloom is a British actor and film producer known for his ability to play heroic and vulnerable characters. As a teenager he took a Drama course at Hampstead College of Fine Art and joined the National Youth Theatre. He began his career playing small roles in television series and had his film debut in Wilde (1997). He then entered the Guildhall School of Music and Drama to study acting. He stood out in the industry in the 2000s thanks to two of the most successful film franchises of the time: The Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean. In the former, directed by Peter Jackson, he gave life to the elf Legolas, who was also included in The Hobbit trilogy of films. In the second, he shared the screen with Johnny Depp and Keira Knightley, playing Will Turner. With these projects he conquered audiences around the world and established himself in Hollywood. Bloom appeared in films such as Troy (2004), Kingdom of Heaven (2005), New York, I Love You (2009) and The Three Musketeers (2011). He starred in the series Carnival Row (2019), which was canceled in its second season. He has been practicing Buddhism since he was 16 years old, is an advocate of veganism, an environmental activist and has participated in various humanitarian causes throughout his career. Orlando has left a significant mark in contemporary cinema with his performances in the adventure genre.
