Gert-Jan Booy

Creative director of 15+ tv series and 5 motion pictures. Favourite genres: mystery, thriller, sci-fi, horror, fantasy. Winner of the Ensor 2017 for "beste Nederlandstalige jeugdfilm" - i.e. Belgium film award for best childrens movie. After graduating from the Amsterdam Film School in 1991, Mr. Booy mainly directed (and partly produced) the Dutch soap series " Goede tijden, slechte tijden" and "Onderweg naar Morgen" for the Endemol Entertainment Group. The urge towards mystery based and cinematic storytelling drove him to the Belgian "Studio 100" company, that specializes in children / young adult fantasy and mystery. The Belgian port folio includes the mystery based series Ghost Rockers, Nachtwacht, Game Keepers, Anubis, and Galaxy Park. Ghost Rockers, about a group of young musicians with an eerie connection to a deceased rockband, ran for 4 seasons and led to an award winning motion picture. Nachtwacht (Night Watch), a fantasy series about 3 mystical creatures -in human form- hunting monsters from the Underworld, counts 7 seasons. Mr. Booy directed (and partially wrote) over 50 episodes, as well as three Nachtwacht movies.
