Pierre Brochu has been working in filmmaking for forty years. He runs his own TV production company (Ubique Film) based near Orford (Quebec, Canada). He is also director, scriptwriter and editor. Under his former company (Poly-Productions), he directed a six-hour international doc series entitled "The World History of Alcohol", as well as the popular musical anthologies "Le Vent des annees 60", "Connaitre la suite", "Les Enfants d'un siecle fou", and "Partis pour la gloire", a 13 half-hour series on Quebec emigres. His best success is a documentary on Quebec's comic legend, "Olivier Guimond", that was seen by a million viewers at its seventh showing on TVA (a private channel in Quebec province) . His biography "Trenet au Canada", reveals the visits of Charles Trenet to Canada that forever changed the face of French Quebec song. Trenet is one of the great French chansonniers, along with Brel, Ferré and Brassens. His movie "Nos lacs : sous la surface" (2009) sounds a cry of alarm about « blue algae », an environmental catastrophe in the making. From 2014 to 2017 he explored successively the world of poker, mixed martial arts, women in combat sports and bartending, always seeking to understand, with rigor and respect what motivates the followers of these sometimes surprising activities. In 2016, he also portrayed Éric St-Pierre, founder of the Mira Foundation.
