Dennis Brooks received his B.A. at Tufts University for Theater and English Literature and his M.F.A. in Playwriting at UCLA's School of Theater, Film and TV. During his time at UCLA Brooks met director Luis Meza who cast him as one of the leads in his first feature, "Staccatto Purr of the Exhaust." The film premiered in competition at The Sundance Film Festival in 1997. Brooks is an accomplished actor and has appeared in over thirty stage plays. He has sold scripts for both television and film represented by APA, William Morris and CAA. His directorial debut, "Goodnight Joseph Parker," an adaptation of his theatrical play, was deemed "a brilliant gem of American independent filmmaking" by Mattias Frey in New England Film.
