Sten Byriel

Danish opera singer (bass). Born in Horsens, studied at Aarhus University, the Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus/Aalborg, and the Royal Danish Academy of Music. Debut as soloist at the Royal Danish Opera in 1985. Part of the Royal Danish Opera until 2019. Notable parts as Papageno (Magic Flute), Figaro, Orest (Elektra), Klingsor (Parsifal), Alberich (Der Ring des Nibelungen), Marke (Tristan und Isolde), Leporello and the Commendatore (Don Giovanni), Doctor (Wozzeck), Dr Kolenatý (The Makropulos Case), Kovalyov (The Nose), Man (Von heute auf morgen), Count Waldner (Arabella), Nekrotzar and Astradamors (Le Grand Macabre) and Hotel Manager (Powder her Face).
