Dennis Byrd

Dennis Byrd played four seasons in professional football for the New York Jets. On November 29,1992 Byrd shattered his neck and was announced paralyzed. He would never be able to walk again. Soon after he was able to rise again and walk. On October 15, 2016, he was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 88 in Oklahoma. According to the report, a 17-year-old veered his Ford Explorer into the oncoming lane, colliding with Byrd's Hummer H2. Byrd was pronounced dead at the scene.He was 50 years old.
