“Therapy? I don't need it. The roles I choose are my therapy.” Angelina Jolie is one of the most prominent and highest-paid actresses in Hollywood. At an early age, she dabbled in modeling, but after receiving criticism and ridicule, she opted to quit and begin her studies at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute. She began acting in 1982 alongside her father, Jon Voight, but her first major role was in Hackers (1995). Jolie is known for her roles in films such as Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001), Maleficent (2014), and Girl, Interrupted (1999), for which she won an Oscar Award for Best Supporting Actress. In addition to her successful film career, she is also well known for her humanitarian work. She has been involved in several initiatives to help refugees and promote human rights and gender equality. Her fame continued with action films such as Mr. and Mrs. Smith (2005), notable for being the starting point of her romantic relationship and marriage to actor Brad Pitt. She was acclaimed for her performance in Changeling (2008), receiving another Oscar nomination. She received two Golden Globes, a BAFTA and a Screen Actors Guild Award (SAG), among others.
