He channeled this magnetism into landing his first leading male roles in River Runs Through It (1992), Legends of the Fall (1994), and Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994), cementing his status as a multi-faceted actor and breaking away from being just a "pretty face". Four years later he starred in the cult hit Fight Club (1999) and then went on to star in the international smash hit as Rusty Ryan in Ocean's Eleven (2001) and its sequels, Ocean's Twelve (2004) and Ocean's Thirteen (2007). His biggest box-office hits were Troy (2004) and Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005), the latter title also recognized for the controversy generated around his divorce from fellow actress Jennifer Aniston and his subsequent romance and marriage to his former co-star, Angelina Jolie. Over time, he continued to vary greatly in his film choices, appearing in all sorts of films such as Babel (2006), Megamind (2010), Inglourious Basterds (2009), and The Tree of Life (2011). He has received two Best Actor Oscar nominations for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008) and Moneyball (2011), as well as winning a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his performance in renowned director Quentin Tarantino's film Once Upon A Time In Hollywood (2019).
