Fraser began his career in theater and small television roles. Before jumping to fame, Fraser made his film debut with small roles in “Dogfight” (1991) and in the comedy “Encino Man” (1992), where his interpretation of the thawed caveman was a success. His popularity grew with comedies such as “George of the Jungle” (1997) and “Blast from the Past” (1999). His ability to combine physical comedy with natural charm earned him a solid fan base. The Mummy saga (1999) and its sequels, “The Mummy Returns” (2001) and “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor” (2008), were instrumental in establishing Fraser as an action star. These films allowed him to showcase his knack for action-adventure entertainment and the franchise was a commercial success and helped establish Fraser as an action hero in Hollywood. In the early 2000s, he faced several personal problems, including a series of surgical operations for injuries sustained on set, as well as more general health problems. In addition, his divorce in 2008 and battle with depression affected his career and personal life. Fraser's return to mainstream cinema came with the film “The Whale,” directed by Darren Aronofsky. It received critical acclaim and earned him the Best Actor Award at the Academy Awards.
