Fareed Ahmed was a film director from Pakistan who made many films in Pakistan including some highly successful super-hit films like Andaleeb (1969) which celebrated its Golden Jubilee in Pakistani cinemas in 1969. He was the only son of renowned and veteran film director of the 1940W.Z. Ahmed well- known for the films Ek Raat (1942),Man Ki Jeet (1944) and Waada (1957) .Since his father was a resourceful and successful film director,he sent his son,Fareed Ahmed,to the USA for training in film-making in the 1950's after he completed his basic education in Lahore,Pakistan. So Fareed Ahmed completed his film-making training in the USA and returned to Pakistan in the mid-1960's to make films there.He made many films after the above-mentioned film Andaleeb (1969), for example Angaarey (1971) which had a super-hit film song by the famous playback singer 'Mehdi Hassan' " Abb Key Ham Bichhrey Tau Shaaid Khawaabon Mein Millein" a ghazal song written by the celebrated poet of Pakistan Ahmed Faraz which topped the charts of popularity in 1971.Fareed Ahmed came down with cancer and finally died in 1993 in Lahore, Pakistan.
