Buster Bailey was a great clarinet player in jazz. He studied clarinet with Franz Schoeppe, a man who was the professor of Benny Goodman. He played and recorded with Fletcher Henderson, Clarence Williams, Ma Rainey, The Mills blue rhytmm band and others in the twenties and the thirties. He worked with the John Kirby sextet since 1938 until 1946. He was one of the all stars in the band of Louis Armstrong in 1965, until his death in 1967.
