Brandon Barrera

Actor | Writer
Date of birth : 12/26/1974
City of birth : Bossier City, Louisiana, USA

Hailing from Shreveport, Louisiana (birthplace of Hank Williams Jr. and actor Jared Leto) an indomitable spirit best typifies actor Brandon J. Barrera. His father Alonzo Barrera (a business man, serial entrepreneur and Vietnam veteran) and mother Susan Hartsfield (a drama teacher) raised Brandon and his sister Britney around both business and the theater arts. After a traumatic leg injury at the age of six, Brandon's indomitable spirit helped him overcome several painful operations as a child. After three surgeries, six months in the hospital and years of painful rehabilitation, the injury was finally corrected. Brandon then went on to become a state-ranked tennis player (ranked in the top 40), and also attended the prestigious Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy. Brandon started exploring acting as a youth being exposed to theater through his mother. He was a member of the Shreveport acting troupe, Peter Pan Players from the age of ten, till he graduated high school (Airline High School). He then continued to study acting throughout college (Louisiana Tech University) performing in many classic and original theater productions. After graduation, he moved to Los Angeles to study with several elite acting coaches, and to forge a career within film and television. In 2004, Brandon formed Secret Identity Productions alongside childhood friend, Blayne Weaver. With 20 films under his belt, his career has been marked by a steady string of well rounded performances with an array of super talented actors including: Mark Harmon, Jon Cryer, Blair Underwood, Kaitlin Olsen, Dash Mihok, Rita Wilson, Jane Lynch, Jesse Bradford, Scott Eastwood, Robert Patrick, Ted Levine, Lance Henrikson, Martin Starr, Jeff Fahey and Jamie Pressley. Brandon has also worked with Academy Award nominee, Dan Petrie, Jr. (writer of the original mega-hit "Beverly Hills Cop") on two projects, Dawn Patrol and Rosemont. Although Brandon has made significant traction as an actor in Hollywood, he remains focused on portraying what would become his "signature role," one that pushes him to the limit and is enjoyed by movie and TV fans for years to come. Brandon recently completed a co-starring role on CBS's hit television show Scorpion, and also his first leading man role in "Bad Things," a bank heist thriller also starring, Jeryl Prescott and Omar Dorsey. When he's not acting, the ever private and introspective Brandon loves being a dad to his daughter, Skye.
