April Barnett hails from Houston, TX. She has worked with Cedric Yarbrough and Wendi McLendon-Covey in "Closing Escrow." She also worked with Jeff Goldblum in the groundbreaking play "The Exonerated." And she was Lady Anne to Charles S. Dutton's Richard III to favorable reviews. She also starred as "Tobi" in the well received film "Drylongso" which was featured in the American Spectrum category at the 1999 Sundance Film Festival. It also won the Grand Prize at the Pan African Film Festival. She was in the leading role as the crack-addicted prostitute in the avant garde film "Flight" which was the only American film accepted in its category at the 1998 Cannes International Film Festival. April feels blessed to have had the various life experiences which have allowed her to bring forth a fresh realism to her writing and the characters she plays. She hopes to continue to do work well enough to earn the respect of her peers and make her family proud.
