Elizabeth started in the film and television industry at an early age. She studied acting as a teenager, wrote and directed stage plays in high school, and in 1988 was hired by Canada's YTV as a reporter where she reviewed movies, interviewed actors and directors, and eventually moved behind the camera as segment producer, writer and director. Elizabeth is a graduate of the American Film Institute's Directing Program and Simon Fraser University's Film Studies Program. She has written and directed a bunch of award winning short films and was recipient of the Canadian Academy of Cinema and Television's National Apprenticeship Training Program award which sponsored Elizabeth to work alongside several veteran directors including Arthur Hiller, Rob Bowman, and Gary Harvey.
