“Our identity can be multiple” Andrés Di Tella is an Argentine filmmaker, journalist, and film director. Born in 1958, at 41, he founded and became the first director of BAFICI (Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival), considered one of the most important film events in Latin America. Director of the Princeton Documentary Festival since 2002, he has been an educator at the Master of Journalism of the Universidad de San Andrés / Clarín, at the Centro Cultural Rector Ricardo Rojas of the Universidad de Buenos Aires and the Fundación Carolina in Madrid; he is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, where he promoted the creation of the Art Department and where he also teaches. Director of multi-awarded films such as Montoneros, una historia (1995), Macedonio Fernández (1995), Prohibido (1997), La televisión y yo (2002), Fotografías (2007), El país del diablo (2008), Hachazos (2011) ¡Volveremos a las montañas! (2012), Máquina de sueños (2013), El Ojo en el cielo (2013), 327 Cuadernos (2015), and Ficción privada (2020), he is considered one of the most important documentary filmmakers in the continent, being his work recognized and highlighted in books that consecrate his pieces.
