“I think actors get too comfortable. As an actor, I like being uncomfortable because it keeps you alive.” Peter Dinklage is an American actor best known for his role as Tyrion Lannister in the acclaimed television series Game of Thrones, which brought him worldwide fame. He was born with achondroplasia, the most common cause of dwarfism, and his condition gave him a complicated adolescence; he had to learn to live with discrimination. Dinklage showed an interest in acting from an early age and studied drama at Bennington College. He moved to New York and spent that first stage looking for roles in plays and turning down roles offered to actors with his condition, such as “elves” or “goblins”. He made his film debut in the dramatic comedy Living in Oblivion (1995), alongside Steve Buscemi, but his leading role in The Station Agent (2003) was undoubtedly the beginning of his career. He has participated in several projects such as Elf (2003), Find Me Guilty (2006), Underdog (2007), Death at a Funeral (2007), and its 2010 remake, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008), X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) and Cyrano (2021). He also lent his voice to animated films such as Angry Birds (2016 y 2019) and The Croods 2 (2020). He is an active advocate for the rights of people with dwarfism and uses his visibility to raise awareness of the stigmas they face.
