Ivan Dzhambazov was born on 7 September 1932 in Sofia. He graduated in Acting from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in 1955. He stayed for two years with the company of the Drama Theatre in Sliven, and then for 8 years at the Theatre of Satire in Sofia, but for the rest of his professional career until retirement he was part of the company of Nikolay Binev Youth Theatre in the capital city. He did a lot of voice-overs (he was the first actor to do the voiceover in Bulgarian for Batman in Batman: The Animated Series). He made his debut in film acting in the late 1950s. He has acted in almost 30 feature films, On a Small Island (1958), Balance (1983), Divorces, Divorces (1989), Love Is a Willful Bird (1990), and La Donna e mobile (1993), to name but a few.
