Joaquín Carrasquilla studied in the School Javier, removing its degree in Sciences, Letters and Philosophy and in the University of Panama obtaining the degree in graphic design. Since 1982 his cartoons appeared in the Newspaper La Prensa; interspersed with the ones that appeared in different moments in the weekly Quiubo, the Financial Gazette and the Daily Extra. Since 1994 Joaquin has worked as a cartoonist in the Panama America. He is also an independent producer of innovative advertising campaigns, besides he has worked for post-producing and as Creative and graphic designer for advertising agencies. Has won among others prizes the Video Maxell contest and to international level the Caribbean contest'92. In April of 1997, carries out an exhibition of sculptures in Costa Rica (week of the conservation of the nature), with the assistance of actors of Hollywood. In June, 1997 he exhibited in "Planet Hollywood" - Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, USA. Famous Hollywood names such as Mr. Johnson, Woophi Goldberg, Jay Leno, Nicholas Cage, among others acquired their "sculptures". In the year 2000 the first Cinema company in Panama. Then in the 2003 he finalized the first feature film done in Panama with international projection, "The Night". Later in 2003, 2004 he presented the movie "The Night", in the International festival of movies "Sitges", Barcelona, and in the International Festival of movies of Bogotá,Colombia. Carrasquilla is actually working on his next project, still without a name, that is an animated movie for families, that he is co-producing with a Hollywood producer. He is also working on a movie called Touch & Die","Toca Y Muere", that will be sold to a Hollywood production company or will be co-produced by his company, Smiling People Films, and a Hollywood production company. Some other projects are beginning to be co-produced by Smiling People Films and Hollywood production companies. Joaquin Carrasquilla simply draws a different dawn each and every day.
