Vasili Chiginsky, Member of The Russian Director's Guild, born 1969 in Leningrad (today St. Petersburg) began his cinema career in 1986 as an assistant director at the honored film studios of "Lennauchfilm" and "Soyuztelefilm". In 1990-1995 he studied at the Russian State Institute of Cinematography in the film director's faculty, specializing in feature film workshops of V. Naumov. In 1995 on the basis of his successful studio work at "Lenfilm", he made his debut short film " I Go To Search" - an ironic thriller, with elements of parody which received critical acclaim. In 2001 he released a picture "Red Streptocid". A drama with action that takes place in Leningrad blocked by Germans during World War II. Additionally, since 1993 Vasili has directed about 200 television programs for leading Russian television. He also filmed more than 150 advertising spots and commercials in Russia, Ukraine and Europe. His works constantly receive prizes at prestigious International advertising and film-festivals. He is one of the youngest and hottest directors in Russia.
