Mr. Chavez finished a four-year program at Nucleo De Studios Teatrales (NET), receiving a bachelor (equivalent) of Arts degree in Acting. To enhance his work experience, Mr. Chavez went to New York and joined the Actor's Studio workshop program. His New York City premiere in the play 'Kelly' played to critical acclaim and enthusiastic audiences at the Shapiro Theatre. At age 27, Mr. Chavez became the youngest theater director at the Drama School at Veracruzana University, one of the most prestigious in Latin America. He did a remarkable job directing a very complex and thought provoking script, 'To Die' by Sergi Belbel. Mr. Chavez has appeared in over fifteen plays in Mexico City, including 'Paramo', 'Temblo', and 'El Suplicante'. Several of the projects he performed in went on to enjoy national tours, broadening the scope of his creative vocabulary even further. Mr. Chavez breakthrough to American cinema came when he was cast in Mexico to appear in the action film, "Collateral Damage" starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Since Mr. Chavez has had a prolific career in Hollywood, he also debuted as director, writer producer working for Estrella TV in Los Angeles, CA.
