Lauren Christy is a seven time Grammy winning English singer-songwriter and one of only six women to ever be nominated for a Grammy for Producer of the Year. She was part of the writing production trio The Matrix. Christy was born in London, England. She studied at the Bush Davies Ballet School as a child, before she decided to become a musician. By age nineteen, Christy had become a solo recording artist. What began as a passion for dance had evolved into a professional journey into the foray of music. She was signed to EMI Publishing and achieved a recording contract with Polygram Mercury records. In 1994, she received an American Music Awards nomination for Best New Artist. Her song "The Color Of The Night" also garnered her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Song in an Original Motion Picture. Five years later, Christy reinvented herself as co-creator of The Matrix. Alongside creative partners Graham Edwards and Scott Spock, the trio wrote and produced Avril Lavigne's debut album Let Go which included three international number one hits - "Complicated", "Sk8er Boi" and "I'm With You" - selling 20 million copies. "Complicated" led to the Matrix trio winning the Ivor Novello Award for International Hit of The Year, and they garnered seven Grammy nominations - including Song of the Year in 2003 for "Complicated" and again in 2004 for "I'm With You" along with Producer of the Year. Christy is also a two time Juno award winner and a BMI Songwriter of the Year Award recipient. The Matrix has sold over thirty million records and has worked with artists such as Avril Lavigne, Jason Mraz, Shakira, Liz Phair, Korn, Twisted Transition, David Bowie, Christina Aguilera, Rickey Martin, Britney Spears, Hilary Duff, Ferra, Busted Three AM, Tokio Hotel, Rihanna, Grayson Chance. After twelve years of being behind the scenes, Christy recently performed again, singing three songs live to 12 million viewers on the Ukraine X Factor. Her recent solo songwriting work includes but is not limited to Enrique Iglesias's worldwide number one "Tonight I'm Loving You", Chris Medina - "What Are Words"; Kelly Clarkson - "I Forgive You"; Jason Derulo - "Breathing"; Headley - "Kiss You Inside Out"; Neon Hitch - "F You Better"; Leona Lewis - "Your Hallelujah"; Ricky Martin - "Liar"; Michael Franti - "11:59"; Abraham Matteo - "All The Girls Say (La La La)"; Chris Brown - "Time For Love"'; Jamie Foxx - "Baby's In Love"; Shy Carter - "Baby Bring It Back"; Andra Day - "The Light That Never Fails"; Bebe Rexha - "I'm Gonna Show You Crazy"; G-Eazy X Bebe Rexha - "Me, Myself and I"; Iggy Azalea - "Team"; and Jordan Smith - "Stand In The Light". In 2014, she nominated for a Grammy Grammy nominee for her work on Chris Brown's song, "Time For Love" on the album "X", nominated for Urban Contemporary Album Of The Year. In 2016, she scored a major hit with G Eazy and Bebe Rexha "Me, Myself and I", a number one record on several radio formats. Lauren has written Iggy Azalea's first single "Team" released March 18, 2016, as well as winner of The Voice Jordan Smith's first single, "Stand In The Light".
