Edward Clark AKA E.A. Clarke was a prolific actor of the silent and sound era, but NOT the same person as the similarly named songwriter ("Heart of My Heart"), composer, author, director and producer, who came to the USA in 1891, was a vaudeville comedian, composed the Broadway stage score and libretto for "Little Miss Charity", directed "You're in Love" and "Oh, What a Girl", wrote the librettos for "Honey Girl" and "Paradise Alley", and the plays "Coat Tails", "The Blushing Bride" and "Relations" (acting in the latter). In Hollywood, Edward Clark AKA E.A.Clarke was primarily a screen actor, playing leading roles in silent dramas, and smaller supporting roles in the sound era into the 1950s. Likewise, he is NOT the similarly named Edward Clark, who operated his own acting school for 17 years, and was a contract film writer, who joined ASCAP in 1940, and whose chief musical collaborators included Rudolf Friml, Otto Harbach, and Albert Von Tilzer and whose popular-song compositions include "Say Sis, Give Us a Kiss", "My Old Man is Baseball Mad", "Ring a Ding Dong", "On Hawaiian Shores", "Take a Look at Me Now", "You're in Love", "I'm Only Dreaming", and "Just One Good Time".
