Johnathan Gorman knew he was a born entertainer but didn't take up acting until his senior year of high school. On landing a small role in the school play, he recalls, "I was so scared. Even having only one line, I still messed it up! I'll never forget the feeling of being onstage for the first time -- it's something everyone should do at least once in their lives." The experience was so enjoyable, he never looked back; since then, he has been cast in a variety of films, network television shows, and over 300 commercials. Johnathan's writing interest began when a college girlfriend's professor liked his story ideas. After years of developing his writing skills, he penned the script for Final Decision, which was awarded Best Film at the San Juan Cinefest in Puerto Rico. In 2006, Johnathan moved to Indianapolis so his wife could be closer to her family. After the death of his mother in 2012, Johnathan fulfilled her wish for him: he took a leap into the director's chair with a short film he'd written called Dandelion Dreams. Once again, his creative talents were recognized by various film festivals around the world; he received numerous awards and nominations for Best Picture, Directing, and Best Supporting Actor. After a group of actors worked with Johnathan in 2015, they suggested he open an acting studio so he could share his expertise and unique approach to the craft with aspiring actors throughout Indianapolis. Thus, the Indy Actor Studio was born. "I have always loved sharing what I've learned with anyone who wants to become an actor or be a part of the entertainment industry. Being able to support people in their personal and professional growth is immensely rewarding. We should always continue learning because learning is a gradual process. I am a student of life and human behavior." Johnathan has also found great success beyond the entertainment industry. His professional talents have helped support renowned organizations such as IBM in the Human Capital Management industry. In 2014, he was appointed a Kentucky Colonel for his humanitarian efforts. Today, you may find him acting, producing, directing, or supporting people through coaching and public speaking. He will soon release his first self-help book in October of 2020. Johnathan currently resides in Mooresville, NC with his wife Lisa.
