BIO Filmmaker, director, writer, actress and producer, Maggie started acting at the age of 4. She has acted all over the US and London. She has an MFA in theatre and an MFA in directing. And she studied Shakespeare at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA, London) Her studies with Stella Adler, Eric Morris, Sande Shurin, Jeff Goldblum and many other master teachers, have helped her to star in 300 main stage productions, and to direct over 650 stage and film productions. She has had six theatre companies across the U.S., her latest being Three Roses Players in Los Angeles. She had the amazing privilege of directing Ed Asner and Barbara Bain in Pacific Edge. It is a short film that also stars Eric Cottrell, Michael Marc Friedman, Josh Davis, Pamela Roberts and Rebecca Brooks. So far, not has garnered 18 festival awards and is now a permanent selection on GAIA. She also had the great privilege of working with Mr. Comedy himself, Carl Reiner, in directing and acting in two staged readings of his new full-length play Shakespeare Was Wrong. Maggie also worked with Joe Bologna to bring his excellent play Bitter Angel starring Lou Gossett, Jr. and Bruce Davison to the stage. At Three Roses Players, Maggie had the idea to have the LA audiences vote on their favorite plays and she has been adapting the highest scoring plays into films, as both director and producer. The first was Brotherhood, adapted from the one-act play of the same name by Garry Michael Klugger string Joe Sabatino. Nine other short films have followed this far. Her latest work is Pacific Edge, starring the iconic 7 time Emmy and 5 time Golden Globe Awards winning Ed Asner and Barbara Bain, Erin Cottrell (The Identical, The New Little House On The Prairie), Michael Marc Friedman, Josh Davis, Pamela Roberts and Rebecca Brooks. The original award winning play and adaptation was written by Barbara Lindsay . Match Made also stars 3 time Emmy Award winning actress Barbara Bain, (Mission Impossible Space 1999) as well as film star Robert Miano (Donnie Brasco, 2:22) written by Dale Griffiths Stamos. Match Made has won Audience Choice Awards for Best Short Film at: Sedona International Film Festival Cinema At The Edge Film Festival Santa Monica, CA Official Selection: Palm Springs ShortFest Orange County Film Society Shorts Showcase Match Made broke the record at the 15th Annual Newport Beach Film Festival for being the only film to ever screen 4 times at the festival. Maggie's Film Production Company, One In The Cannes Productions, (Maggie has high hopes!) was born in 2008, she has directed and produced the short films: Pacific Edge, Match Made, Brotherhood, Alexander the Great, The Proposal, Smitten, The Promise and Go Green (so far). Maggie has several new films slated and is also creating a television reality show she will be directing and producing the pilot. She also just created, directed, produced and wrote a pilot for a terrific new game show, watch for that. In the summer of 2015, Ed and Liza Asner approached Maggie to start a production company and GrantWorks Productions & Development was born. They seek out new material for film and television. GWP & D has 6 feature films and 5 television projects. The Instigator is the feature that they are currently in pro-production with and will be shooting in Savannah, GA in the Fall of 2019. Since the partnership began, Maggie and Ed have developed several television and film projects. Following the COVID-19 freeze in 2020 they are ramping up to start pitching to Networks. One project is a series starring a fantastic ensemble cast. This is a series that Maggie created and wrote based on a true story. Maggie has set up an East Coast branch in Atlanta of GrantWorks Productions and Ed and Maggie are very busy bringing great film and theatre to the world.
