"I'll always be the red-head from Harry Potter". Rupert Grint is a British actor known worldwide for playing Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter film series, where he launched his acting career after previously only appearing in school plays. Grint, who was a fan of J. K. Rowling's books, sent in a casting video, got an audition, and then the role. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) broke sales records, was very well received by critics, and was the debut of little Rupert, who during the following years participated in independent projects in parallel to filming the saga, such as Thunderpants (2002), Driving Lessons (2006) Cherrybomb (2009) and Wild Target (2010). He also participated in some television programs. At the end of the last movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - part 2 (2011), he participated in the war movie Into the White (2012). In 2013, he started doing theater, and the following year, he made his Broadway debut with the play It's Only a Play (2014). Grint views the "Harry Potter" phenomenon with a mixture of pride, nostalgia, and appreciation for the opportunities it has afforded him as he continues to develop his career.
