Ruby Handler was born and raised in Washington State. While in high school, she toured Europe as a concert pianist. She studied general education at the University of Washington and Idaho State University. While working at a photography studio in Seattle as a negative-retoucher, Ruby changed her career when asked to do print ads for the studio. She then worked at James Reston's newspaper, The Vineyard Gazette, on Martha's Vineyard and was again discovered by a producer to appear in a national TV commercial for Bubble Up. Numerous TV commercials and print ad campaigns followed, which led to guest roles on many television series and soap operas. Her acting studies included Henry Jacobi, Herbert Bergoff Studio and Weist-Barron School of Television in New York, and Tracy Roberts Studio and Marge Haber in Los Angeles. Ruby has also produced a number of theatrical shows and musical concerts, albums and instructional videos. She has worked as a freelance financial packager, editor of a national magazine, bounty hunter, bodyguard, magician, contract custody officer for the U.S. Marshal Service, and is POST (Peace Officer Standard and Training) certified and a black belt in martial arts. She is the qualified manager and partner in a security and investigations company, and has invented an auto anti-theft device.
