Sean Hargreaves was born 1 September 1965 in Blackpool, Lancashire, England to an engineer father and artistic mother. In 1986 he was accepted into the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California where he excelled in the field of industrial design, graduated in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree, and where he is listed as a 'Notable Alumni'. He has worked on films such as The Fifth Element, Heat, The Lost world: Jurassic Park 2, Star Trek: Beyond, Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2, Avengers Infinity War and Endgame, and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. In 2011 the book, Places, showcasing Hargreaves personal designs was published worldwide. Hargreaves has twice won the AICP-Association of Independent Commercial Producers- award for production design for commercials. His work is included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York. He has also been nominated four times for the Art Directors Guild award for Excellence in Production Design, winning one. His work was also featured in the exhibition 'Pixar: 20 Years of Animation' at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and is also featured in the books 'Places', 'Concept Design 2,' 'The Making of Jurassic Park: The Lost World,' 'Cinefex' and others. In 2012 he gave a presentation of his designs for Lightwave 3D at the world famous Siggraph Computer and Technology Convention in Los Angeles. Also in 2012 he was invited by Sir Jonathan Ive of Apple Computer to give a lecture on his designs for the Apple Design team at their headquarters in Cupertino, California.
