Ted Herold was billed as "The German Elvis" in the late fifties. His first record "Ich brauch keinen Ring" was the German-language version of Elvis' record "Want you wear my ring around your neck". His first career lasted until 1966. His greatest hit was "Moonlight"(1960), followed by such German versions of US rock 'n' roll hits like "Ich bin ein Wanderer" (The wanderer) and "Da Doo Ron Ron". In 1979/80, Ted Herold had a comeback in Germany as a rock 'n' roll singer with songs such as "Rockabilly-Willi", "Bill Haley", "Die Besten sterben jung" and "Rock'n'Roll For President". He still performs his new records.
