Ernest Hendrie born in London in 1859. Highly successful stage performer, his most notable stage role was in 'The Bride of Love to Sweet Nancy' in 1890 and as Tylo in 'The Blue Bird' which he later appeared in the film version in 1910. He also co-authored 'The Elder Miss Blossom' a comedy which was also made into a movie in 1919. He will perhaps be best remembered in the screen version as The Professor in Thomas Bentley's 'The Divione Gift' co-starring opposite Joyce Dearsley for the Phillips Film Co in 1918, his last screen appearance was the lead role as Foxey Green in 'A Will and a Way' a comedy co-starring Polly Emery made at the Artistic Picture studio in 1922.
