Ben Hinkley is an American professional snowboarder. Before Shaun White or Travis Rice, there was one household name in snowboarding. Well, actually you probably didn't know his name, but you did know "that dude who did double front flips in the X Games." This lawn dart gained recognition at the 1999 Winter and Summer XGames as a Silver medalist in Big Air competition. Mountain Dew picked him up as his sponsor and he was seen on every soda dispenser machine throughout the world. His other snowboard competitions were in 2001 Mountain Dew Pro Nationals of Snowboarding, Big Air, 1st place 2001 Grand Prix, Big Air, 1st place 2002 Vans Triple Crown, Overall Big Air Series Champion, 2002 Built Ford Tough North American Championships, Big Air, 2nd place. He is most famous for doing the "Superman" which he does a jump and then forms his body like Superman in the air, ending with a front flip landing perfectly on the ground. He is also known for his double front flip which is perfected by snowboarders today. Ben Hinkley did the snowboarding stunts for Queen Latifah in the 2006 movie "Last Holiday" where he met and became close friends with her main stunt double, Jwaundace Candece. He then became nominated for a World Stunt Award the following year in the "Best Specialty Stunt" category for his work on that movie. Ben soon became the founder and creator of Snowcel app while continuing to be a mentor to others. He is know as one of the founding pioneers for Black Snowboarders in the world and is one of the most respected and liked people in his boarding community.
