Kim Evey was born in South Korea and was adopted by a family in the United States at age one; after living in various U.S. cities, the family settled in Albuquerque, New Mexico. From acting in high school, she moved into improvisational theater in college, eventually establishing the Seattle improv group Kings' Elephant Theater in 1988 with fellow members of her college group. While living in Seattle, Evey continued to act and write in other venues, including a stint as an artist in residence with two local companies, membership in the guest cast of an award-winning comedy show, and a leading role in a feature film (Nowheresville (2000)). During this period, she made a national tour of her one-woman show about World War II internment of Americans of Japanese descent, called "Within the Silence". Evey has lived in Los Angeles since 2000 and continues working both as an actor and a writer. Her local stage work currently includes membership in the Main Company at ACME Comedy Theater, for which she has taught sketch comedy writing. Her writing credits include episodes of Sherm! (2006) and Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi (2004). As of 2007, she was developing a pilot based on her viral video for Mediocre Films, Gorgeous Tiny Chicken Machine Show (2007), in which she plays "Kiko", a wacky television talk show host. Evey co-starred in another popular Mediocre short, Mating Season (2005), with her husband, fellow actor and comedy writer Greg Benson.
