George Evans is an award-winning Canadian jazz vocalist, producer, journalist, and broadcaster. His four CDs as vocalist, of which "Eyes For You" is the latest, have garnered high praise and airplay, both in this country and abroad. George is a fellow of the Eugene O'Neill Cabaret Symposium, a co-winner in the category of Best Musical Revue at the Backstage Bistro Awards, nominated Vocalist of the Year 2002-2003 at the National Jazz Awards Canada, and twice mentioned in the Montréal Mirror "Best Of Montréal" for his popular, long-running vocal radio program. In the field of A&R, George has worked on a total of eight vocal discs for Universal / Verve US, and recently acted as Producer for "Here Come The Boys - a Canadian Crooner Collection" for Maximum Jazz / Universal Music Canada. A recognized authority in the field of vocal standards and jazz, George Evans has an ongoing column in Planet Jazz Magazine out of Montréal. On radio, George was beloved for 9 seasons in Montréal, as host of two long-running pop and jazz vocal programs, as well as two well-received pilot programs for CBC Radio.
