At the age of six, Jay Michael Ferguson was introduced to show business in Oklahoma when he was cast in a regional production of Peter Pan. Jay Michael grew up in Oklahoma staring in, and eventually directing and producing, many different theater and television productions around the state. He appeared in his first film when he was nine, and at the age of fifteen, he began seriously pursuing a career in film and television shows and commercials including Twister, Rescue 911, Rise and Walk: The Dennis Bird Story, Saved by the Bell, Possums, Irish Wiskey, the Emmy Award® winning children's series Wordscape, Real Stories of the Highway Patrol, and many others. In 1995, he was honored to return home to take part in Broadway Sings for the Heartland to help the Mayors Relief fund raise money for the victims of the Oklahoma City Bombing. He worked and performed with talents such as Ben Vareen, Sandy Duncan and Ed Harris. In 1997, Jay Michael had the honor of working with the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, as a producer of the "Children's Charity Ball", the first annual benefit from her American-based charity, Chance for Children. Several years ago, Jay Michael began teaching film and acting and has traveled internationally with his acclaimed workshop, "Show & Business" that he created with his partner, Ricki Maslar. They have also lectured at several universities including UCLA's film school.
