I'm a Director and Cinematographer who's worked on TV commercials for some of the world's most iconic brands, as well as feature films, television documentaries, short films and trailers. I've become an industry-renowned thought leader, having appeared as a featured speaker at major universities, film festivals and industry events. I work at the forefront of Motion Control Technology and in-camera Visual Effects. The pursuit of this passion led me to design and invent the 1st Array Camera in the US which which I sold to "The Matrix", producing the legendary 'bullet time' effect and revolutionizing cinema. On the entrepreneurial side, I'm the Founder and Partner in several leading-edge industry ventures including Arf & Co., where we've created at least 15 Super Bowl commercials with clients like McDonald's, KitchenAid, Budweiser, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Pellegrino, Kay Jewelers, OXO, Verizon, Progressive Insurance, Kirin Ichiban, DeBeers and Kay Jewelers to name a few. As a Partner in Fusion Communications, I've created interactive experiences for clients like IBM, Anheuser Busch and the Phillips Corporation. One Chrysler corporate responsibility initiative was a virtual DUI simulator on college campuses. This involved programming a car's drivability to deteriorate with the increase of a student's (virtual) blood alcohol content. When I'm not working as a Director / DP for commercial clients, I'm operating Cobalt Stages and Cobalt Productions, a joint venture with my partner, producer / actor, Kara Vedder. Cobalt Stages serves Greater NYC with 2 locations and state-of-the-art production solutions including Motion Control and Virtual Production. At Cobalt, we were/are the 1st company to ever bring Virtual Production to the East Coast and offer it to the film community.
