Born in Decatur Illinois, actor Mark Finney's parents divorced at age 15, and as a result of the family unrest Mark moved all around the states in search of stability. Inspired by Cheap Trick and the Sex Pistols, Mark found camaraderie in the burgeoning alternative rock scene, forming many bands. In 1992, Mark found 15 minutes of fame with his band They Came in Droves when a bedazzled Mark found himself pulled onstage by Bono at a U2 concert. Mark performed in front of 60,000 people acoustically, and received a standing ovation. Though internal conflict derailed the Droves, Mark went on to record a debut record with his next band, The Potables with indie rock icon Steve Albini. It was ironic fate, as alternative rock was in its death throws, a casting director for MCI international commercial discovered Mark and cast him as Kurt Cobain. Inspired by this stroke of luck, Mark attended the prestigious Piven Theater, breeding ground of talent like Aidan Quinn, John Cusack, and Lily Taylor. Mark went on to score roles in Stir of Echoes, many guest spots on ER, and the film Ball In The House.
