For 40 years, Sean Ferrer has worked in all aspects of motion picture development, production, post-production and marketing. After taking a short sabbatical to create a series of charities dedicated to continuing his mother's humanitarian legacy, Sean directed and produced a one-man feature documentary titled, Racehoss (2001). Shot on HDTV, Racehoss (2001) is based on the highly successful biography by Albert Race Sample currently being developed as a feature by Mike Judge. Sean also executive produced of the award winning Australian mini series Cloudstreet (2011), based on the Australian best selling novel by Tim Winton. He is also the executive producer of Living the Blues (2010), a documentary about blues singers and musicians. Previously, Sean produced the motion picture Pretty Hattie's Baby (1991) raising the $6 mill budget independently. The film stars Alfre Woodard, Jill Clayburgh, Allison Elliot, Tess Harper and Charles S. Dutton. Directed by Ivan Passer, Pretty Hattie's Baby (1991) is set in the 1950's and chronicles the relationship between an African American mother and her white adopted daughter. Sean was also producer _Stranger's Kiss (1983)_ (starring 'Victoria Tennant' and Peter Coyote (Orion Pictures)) and Good to Go (1986) (starring Art Garfunkel (Island Pictures)). Sean's other production credits include: 1st AD. on Blood In, Blood Out (1993) (directed by Taylor Hackford); 2nd Unit U.P.M./ls1 AD. on Christopher Columbus: The Discovery (1992); Executive Director on Eye of the Widow (1991) (starring F. Murray Abraham, Ben Cross, Rick Young and Annabel Schofield); 1st AD./2nd Unit Supervisor on Old Gringo (1989) (directed by Luis Puenzo, starring Jane Fonda and Gregory Peck); Associate Producer on Ironweed (1987) (directed by Hector Babenco, starring Jack Nicholson and Meryl Streep); Director of Post-Production, Marketing and Foreign Servicing for Keith Barish Productions on Light of Day (1987) (starring Michael J. Fox) and The Running Man (1987) (starring Arnold Schwarzenegger). Other credits include: Treasure of the Moon Goddess (1987) (Hemdale), Bad Manners (1984) (Disney), They All Laughed (1981) (starring Audrey Hepburn and John Ritter), One Shoe Makes It Murder (1982) (starring Robert Mitchum and Angie Dickinson), Inchon (1981) (directed by Terence Young, starring Lawrence Olivier and Jacqueline Bisset). Sean has also produced music videos for Sade ("Paradise") and Joan Jett ("Light of Day"). Sean directed the live broadcast and was a founding member of the "American Cinema Awards." Educated in Europe, Sean is fluent in English, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.
