Small (1m58) and charming, Nicole Plailly, who became an actress under the name of Nicole Francis, was a shooting star of the French cinema. After studying drama with René Simon, she made her film debut in 1949 in Maurice Cloche's Cage of Girls (1949). After this, until 1952, she worked in no more than four other movies, all minor commercial products. On the privacy side, she got married in 1948 with Paul Renoir, the grandson of the famous impressionist Auguste Renoir. But her marriage was even shorter than her movie career: it lasted only eight months.
