In typical show biz fashion, Brad Frost was born in a trunk...an elephant having inhaled his pregnant mother only seconds before. His mother, Jacqueline Frost nee Hoekstra - known to many as "Mom", had been raised in Hollywood, working as an extra and model and was active in local theater, so it was only natural that her son Brad would go into animation. His father, William J. Frost was a drummer and writer who headed up the editorial department at Capital Records for many years. Throughout the 1970s and 80s, Brad played guitar and sang in the bands "Scott Thomas Lowe and Atascadero" (a.k.a. "Atascadero"), "The Meltones", "Benedict Arnold and the Traitors" and "The Hundredth Monkey". He also performed solo. His musical television appearances include Subterranean Sounds (1990), "Brad Frost - Bigger Than Elvis", and the syndicated series, "Songbook". During these same years, he worked as an Assistant Animator on several films and television programs. He has also acted, written and directed occasionally and does political cartoons with a leftist slant. He has been married forever and has scads of children. People give him money for creating things. He lives in the country. 'Tis a good life.
